New iBook G4
Apple released updated iBook and Mac Mini models today.

On the iBooks, the following features have been improved:

* Faster Processors - the 12″ model now has a 1.33 GHz G4 processor, and the 14″ has a 1.42 GHz G4 processor.
* 512MB Memory is standard (up from 256MB), and the maximum memory has been raised to 1.5GB (up from 1.25GB)
* A new Radeon 9550 Graphics chip, supporting new features such as Core Image.
* The wireless Bluetooth 2.0 + EDR and Airport Extreme are standard on all models.
* Sudden Motion Sensor and scrolling trackpad, both features previously available only on Apple’s higher end Powerbook laptops.

On the Mac Mini, there are now three models. All now come with 512MB of Memory standard.

* The low end model is mostly unchanged. It has a 1.25Ghz G4 Processor and 40GB hard drive, and for $499, is the least expensive Mac on the market.
* The middle model comes with a faster 1.42Ghz G4 Processor and an 80GB hard drive for $599, and also includes Airport Extreme and Bluetooth (the older 1.2 version, not 2.0 + EDR like the new iBooks). If you need either of those wireless technologies, it makes sense to get this model, as upgrading the wireless on the low end model to both technolgoies would cost $99, making the price equal to the middle model.
* The high end model is the same as the middle model, with a DVD-writing Superdrive.
